31-Oct-2005 10:01 AM - The Little Girl Who Was Forgotten By Absolutely Everyone (Even The Postman), that is, Emmeline & mr. 27-Oct-2005 1:12 PM - Heat from a Dead Star - Lighten Out Minds (6tx ep, 22'48'' - self prod. 'o5) - From UK, London, a power trio curving on aerial postpunk guitar riffs, new-wave buzzing melodies, and rumbling drums with energetic solos. Their after-taste for 80s indie music sound textures calls a special austerity metabolizing 90's instrumental post-rock structures and black-tinted futuristic soundtracks, hybrid at its best on Black Swans (a memory for noisy guitarrock of Unwound and A Minor Forest) and Downhearted, where ambient exploration satisfies forms and formats of neckless escape mechanisms. Sound engineering and mixing are not at their best, because sonorities play too much gloomy, - but it's a self-production, - You know the difficulties, - and the lack of vocals doesn't help to keep hot listener's attention, - but that doesn't stain the quality of inventions [see below for mp3]. // Heat from a Dead Star - Lighten Out Minds (6tx ep, 22'48'' - self prod.

20-Oct-2005 5:18 PM - Vincent Gallo - When (1otx cd, 42'53'' - Warp rec 'o1) - I'm a fan of this man. He's a great actor, and when i discovered His Music too, - i felt a 'wow' came out of my throat. And it's not like with Jennifer Lopez.. because she's not an actress! - ok, stop joking. - When was released some years ago, but it's such a so delicate and subtle collection of pearls, pearls imbued in tears, that it's worthy attention, even if in late (it's my case..). But the good things survive to the passing Time. - Five songs of ten are with vocals, - brittle frail in-loved vocals; - never guessed Vincent was so gentle in singing ("it could be so nice.. niiiiice.." - Yes I'm Lonely) . - Music is like a dream of King Crimson's Moonchild, like if the start-point was that tip-tap performed by Cristina Ricci in his Buffalo '66.. His songs, even if loaded with broken-heart or happy-heart lyrics, are anyway desperate.. funny because of their simplicity, as well as moving (Laura... Laura come back.. let's find a place, a happy place.. // We can lay in the bed.. you and me.. and i won't go away or leave you alone.. sweetie-pie - baby.. sleep tight..), - and guitars are like whispered, in an emotional salvation. - Instrumental tracks swing between psychedelic melodies and trip-hop drumming, - and the whole album is like a private diary (shining Beauty), maybe open with pain, like a Young guy inloved, writing poetries all the night long about His crazy girlfriend..
20-Oct-2005 4:59 PM - Chicken Wings are not for flying is my waste-m-ytime-flash game of this evening! Help sweet little chickens! ohh poor babies.. btw, the guy after Orisinal.com is really a talented flash-developer.. thank You dude for sharing this sweetness..
20-Oct-2005 2:02 PM - Broadcast - Tender Buttons (14tx cd, 4o'28'' - Warp rec 'o5) - Now "only" in two, it's vocalist Trish Keenan and bassist James Cargill to complete the name of Broadcast, releasing a new excellent unexpected chapter of Their live in Music. - 6o's after taste couture of former releases, brillantly focusing on guitar, organ and amazing Neil Bullock's percusions (now replaced by a minimalistic drum machine), is re-invented here by a solitary pop-static keyboard raucousness, where calm Trish's frigid vocals run lullabies of distorted melodious descending scale riffs (Black Cat) , full of disturbed ring-modulators and clean bass lines. An half connection, with what Broadcast feeded electro-lounge previously, is exclusively on the opening track I Found the F and Tears in the Typing Pool, - then everything is built on a gelid elegant eccentricity, putting aside former arrangements complexity, but embracing a spartan approach of perfection in covering multi-stratified electronics, like elevating an everlasting futuristic vibe coming from past. - Probably less accessible than its predecessors if You never heard anything of Them before, - but certainly this album is a Gem reflecting frail images of surrealistic psychedelia, at it's renewed better state.
20-Oct-2005 1:07 PM - The Dead 60s - s/t (13tx cd, 35'41'' - Sony rec) - Probably nowadays, most of new young musicians has nothing to say new. It's like that being new to the world means just listen and repeat: something new is prohibited. - But ok, You can say we might also accept the fact that it's not a crime being born in 2ooo instead of during 80s, - and then.. here You are The Dead 60s.. And, said that, - i might also conclude this review saying they look like Joe Strummer, the Specials, the Stray Cats, - like a million thousands other guys that are right now rocking in the basement somewhere out there over the world, playing over and over thinking they sign the difference. The difference here is the Sony's support, that helps these Liverpudlian (talented?) guys to packaging a perfect album indeed, - groovy, spooky, well written (from Riot Radio to Horizontal..), and blahblahblah - but as enjoyable as it is, still stinks revival: and i'd wonder the reason why wasting all these efforts to be a clone (besides money, of course). - Btw, this album is pretty perfect..
19-Oct-2005 4:34 PM - B/w photography has got its old-fashioned charm on me: great, - i just wrote something really banal. - That doesn't change that young hungarian Artist Zoltan Vancso has taken lost of amazing photographies all around the world, always from a special point of prospective. - And His website is amazing and sweet of a carillion effect..
19-Oct-2005 3:17 PM - My Way My Love - s/t 0.9 (5tx ep 26'25'' - Boot Bum 'o4) - Dynamic, electric, mesmerising lo-fi wonder, for feedback addicts: a noise-interlaced treasure. This rich five tracks production 36o° embraces the Yukio Murata's genius. While the opening track and #4 touch art-rock realms, Black Butterfly is an hypnotical trip, a loop convulsed lullaby crashing into a wild drumming. Track#2 is enriched with a suffocating sax, and last song recalls of some precious lysergical Sonic Youth's slow rides. ** see below for mp3, and read this brief interview i had with Yukio by email. [-› concerti]. 19-Oct-2005 8:47 AM - Like Clairecords mailorder before, now Their affiliated Tonevendor keeps following a very friendly policy in packaging and sending orders: They always accompany records with some candies and veryvery nice hand signed cards (once was a Panda in loved, once was a paper heart, this time a japane cookiesArefriends-card..): i LOVE that. - What did i order? well well well.. i finally found original CDs of Glider and Ecstasy & Wine - yeah! i'm referring to My Bloody Valentines' ones! (and with affordable prices!) - did You think They were out of print? YOU WERE WRONG! Lazy records reprinted some, and You can only get someother hard-to-finds. - HIGHLY RECOMENDED.
18-Oct-2005 11:43 AM - Metric - Live it Out (10tx cd, 41'26'' - Last Gang rec 'o5) - Former album, Old World Underground Where Are You?, was kind of a machine gun loaded with hits: such so naturally able to melt a vision of New Order sound (Succexy) with funky drumming (Dead Disco) and best tricks of 90's brit-pop (Combat Baby, IOU, Wet Blanket). It didn't represent a masterpiece or the next big thing or magazine craps-like-that. - Simply, its result was a perfect album to be proud of, easy to enjoy, dance and.. yes, so groovy to listen.. Who can resist to Combat Baby? - Now, new Live it Out signs a further step ahead, abandoning the soft concept-line of previous ten tracks, where quick and slow rythms matched fine under the same volume; this new release runs faster through a guitar-driven rock path, maybe as closest as possible to Metric live performances: rawer and louder, less synth serpentines, replaced with rousing edges (Handshake, Monster Hospital, Empty, the title track) and sincere power pop vibrations: it's just Emily Haines' voice to represent the unique pop-ish brake so that certain episodes don't turn totally into the wild indie. Her vocals, sexy and energetic, jump on breathy and strong, brilliant on lyrics like I fought the war but the war won, and buy this car to drive to work, drive to work to pay this car, - focusing the phisical prospective of Metric melodies and rendering all even precious of how it is. Poster of a Girl, Patriarch On A Vespa (with James Shaw's noisy guitar solo), are probably the two faces of this record: a disillused portrait of fustigated dreamers, trying to find a way out from naked reality.

08-Oct-2005 7:46 PM - My Way My Love - Hypnotic Suggestion: 01 (13tx cd, 29'5o'' - File 13 rec 'o5) - From Japan, Tokyo, with Genius. - It's a new young (cult!) Band, guided by crazy vocalist/noiser Yukio Murata, full of freshness and brilliant song-writing. It's like an ideal point, placed between Braniac/Enon (listen to Ovo oddness, as well as the fierce Was Not Rock Cradle), Sonic Youth (vocals and feedbacking on Sound of Gold), Cornelius (the japan indiependent perfectionism of ideas), and the best of noise no-wave, where Superfresh surprises the listener with an unespected guitars explosion, the alarm-call of Captain signs the march of a dirty rock & roll, with a strong satured bass line and a perfect chorus, - and Un speeds up Your heart-beat. A fierce and adrenalynic melt of low-fi wilderness alternated with hi-fi hypnotical six string-schizophrenia (the two faces of Sports). And the final dog bark of Jinxx[..]xsix, really got me a smile. - Sincerely worth Your attention! And next November They are touring italy, and i long to see Them performing live! [see below for mp3s] // My Way My Love - Hypnotic Suggestion: 01 (13tx cd, 29'5o'' - File 13 rec 'o5) - Dal Giappone, Tokio, con Genio. 'o5. - yep, my pics are pure shit, sorry. sorry. and the mp3 You find below is shit too. unlucky night. I didn't enjoy the show all that much.. kind of delusion, WHILE past year, i really digged the show.. but last night (and maybe after i bought The Chain Gang of Love) They looked at me like the Ronettes (of Be My Baby (2,4mb)), as well as the Roxette (!!), and of course as the likes of Jesus & Mary Chain (even toomuch).. and the show started almost at midnight!! oh my god, i was such so tired of waiting and waiting.. and They played like an hour only (i know, They have 3min songs for the most), and no encores! what a shame.. Maybe the best has consumed on Red Tan as well as You Say You Lie, - on the flipside, i got somewhat bored, even if the kids looked nice.. Note: Sharin has played the guitar instead of bass - replaced by a new guy, jumed on stage with a cigarette (hey dude, it's forbidden downhere... but youarearockstar, ohhhhyeah.. - how sad). // Raveonettes - live @ circolo degli artisti, roma, 28 sett. 'o5. "come on"?' - la gente ride - 'what did the fuck you say?'..
¬mp3 live: If I Was Young (3,1mb). - scusate la qualità del suono..
