Alberto Novello and Rob Mazurek joined forces and started to eat our burning star.
Both master their role. Rob Mazurek's discography is huge and juicy since day one. Alberto Novello relentlessly goes by the same path.
Padova meets Chicago, "recorded in a single afternoon at Dobialab, an experimental artist run space in Northern Italy", these 6 track record perfectly pictures their excercise of retrofuturistic jazz, tinted with psychedelic consciouness (the bittersweet solitude of Automaton Phase 27), where Novello governs the laws of nonsense abstractism through analogue synthetizers, boasting a variety of amazing architectures, intertwining and altering the sacredness of Mazurek's trumpet winds - what probably is meant to embody and which portraits humanity in all this pitch‑shifting chaos driven universe of wires and knurled controllers. Luchadores Sudden Embrace and Ricochet Edge Verse pulse and buzz over this hypnotic synesthesia oscillations which supply a depth connectivity to the listener's inner self. Pretty allucinatory before going instrospective. Like the shamanic mysticism of final track A New Mycological Framework of Narrative. Or probably that's just the mean to its end: crashing over the Sun and think you eat it.

While I totally love Peter Kernel since day one, I still have mixed feelings for Barbara Lehnhoff and Aris Basetti's solo projects.
Still, new track I like the Noise - for the forthcoming new Camilla Sparksss record, ICU RUN The Movie - is totally growing on me: buzzing and pulsing, sexy and oblique. And DIY galore. Press play.

Manuel Bienvenu Oh Do We https://www.inkoma.com/k/4929

Manuel Bienvenu, ten years after his latest Amanuma LP, and five since Glo, is back in full grace and elegance.
Multi-instrumentalist from Paris, here backed by an international talented cast of collaborators, he shares a tracklist of new songs which read joyfulness through a whispered charm, in an amalgam of easy listening and creative dynamics.
Oh Do We is methodically beautiful, skillfully orchestrated. It's like the sound of a mosaic, or like making mosaically a music tune, such it's rich of details. Dark Polychrome speaks these figures. Dissipation would make the day of every Stereolab fan. This song is huge. Like being cradled on melancholy and sweetness through space-age pop arrangements (Minorton), watching an European film of the 60s. Armando Trovajoli anyone? Pure poetry and lyricism. That taste for beauty. Here Comes tingles with a broody romance tell, vibrating and enthralling, with Bienvenue's subtle voice embraced by female backing vocals and an emotional drum backbeat. Nureta Bara (濡れた バラ), 'soaked rose', sung in Japanese, lead female vocals by vibraphonist Tomoko Yoshino, words by Bienvenu's daughter Amande, is a high point among jazz and indie pop. Captivating and exciting.
An imaginative and melody-driven record indeed.
