Someone told me the Band's name doesn't stand for Australia, but You have to pronunce it like 'he/ay you', h or less. More, they are from Portland, - actually the home-base of most of latest more interesting and creative music acts, - see The Dead Science, Grails, Rollerball, The Decemberitsts and last but not least Parenthetical Girls, whose right their leader Zac Pennington writes an introduction for AU at Aagoo rec's band page.
As regards me, AU sound like the european Efterklang in front of the monolyte of A Space Odyssey, maybe with Robert Wyatt as dr Dave Bowman.
Second album for the band, it features a growing of majestic orchestral music arrangements since the first note of the first track: feeded with clarinets, pipe organ, flute and other winds, besides a classical instrumentation, where male/female vocals go from one to a whole chorus of people (All My Friends.. Are animals), outgoing the single confins of the core member Luke Wyland.
The album alternates psychedelic tantric meditations (Summerheat) to ecstatic polyphonic musical catharsis (All Myself), intangible images of spiritual elevation, - finally leading to slow jazzy funeral marches (Prelude and The Waltz).
A perfect album to step into an experimental poetic realm where the next band on stage is A Hawk and a Hacksaw (ok, They're not from Portland, but in Darkness At Noon they have a song called Portlandtown ;-))).

Are animals), varcando i confini del singolo membro fodnatore Luke Wyland. L'album alterna meditazioni tantriche (Summerheat) a estatiche catarsi polifoniche (All Myself), intangibili immagini di elevazione spirituale, a giungere in finale a delle marce funebri jazzate (Prelude and The Waltz).
