The Gags
Who's Afraid Of Virginia Fetish?

I Gags
entrambi usciti solo in vinile per la romana Hate e contenenti pezzi di puro fuoco sacro quali Camp Virgins, I Wanna Be Your Infirmary,
Animal Discipline.
Glezos, tranne qualche sfumatura nelle registrazioni e qualche bel
Per dire: The Girl Who Invented The French Kiss, Don't Leave No Stain, o la re-incisione della storica All the Priests...
snob
quanto volete, ma non artistoidi. Non hanno pagina myspace nè glie ne
frega di portare il disco in tour. (nota di colore).

The Gags - Who's Afraid Of Virginia Fetish? (14tx CD - 37'46'' El Passerotto rec 'o7) - Plausibly, from a strictly musical point of view (but not only) The Gags (from Milan) were the most talented band for italian punk'77. Proof of that was their presence in Punk At La Scala, besides excellent compendium Criss-Cross (1979-1981), both released in vinyl only by rome-based Hate rec, featuring pure holy fire songs as Camp Virgins, I Wanna Be Your Infirmary, Animal Discipline. Inspired by early Banshees, Adam Ant, The Damned, but (rare ingredient) adding their own personhood and a respectable attitude. I can say that nothing has really changed after the years for talented Glezos' group, except done for some shade in recordings and some more riff.. in my head, they are between Melvins & Butthole Surfers (?). In their new tunes we can spot the usual cinematic-sadomasochism imaginery, and it is (as usual) full of cruelty, and anyway still melodic; post-pop art / cold war / everything. I mean: The Girl Who Invented The French Kiss, Don't Leave No Stain, as well as the remake of their legendary All the Priests.. snob as You want, yet not arty. They haven't got a myspace account, neithern They care to sell the disc on tour. (curious detail).
