I Miranda sono un trio: Giuseppe
Caputo alla voce/chitarra/loops, Gabriele Ragonesi
al basso, Pietro Carafa alla batteria. Formatisi come gruppo
di improvvisazione rumorista nel 1998, dopo qualche cambio di formazione, un
demo ed un concerto di spalla agli americani Tristeza, sono
pervenuti ad un sound molto originale. Si sentono influenzati da Unsane,
Jesus Lizard, Shellac, Polvo
e dalla Chicago post, bè ragazzi tanto di cappello. I brani sono vere canzoni
(non masturbazioni da blando progressivo) e sono anche emozionanti perbacco!
Nascono dalla convergenza di Van Pelt, Slint
e Touch & Go, cosa volete chiedere di più ad un gruppo,
il sangue? Eccovelo: Bmx, Involved Man, Fabyenne
(echi di Devics
nell'intro e progressioni albiniane poi), Val, Toi (mai stati
ad Action Park?), SafeTrip, una dietro l'altra implodono/esplodono
senza cedimenti. Questa è musica che ferisce come uno schiaffo nell'anima, una
vera benedizione per la scena nazionale. E pensare che Inside The Whale
(From Scrath records 2003) è "solo" l'album d'esordio per i Miranda,
scusate se è poco. Compratevi il cd italiano dell'anno scrivendo a info@fromscratch.it,
costa solo 10 euro (spese postali incluse) e vale la rinuncia ad un paio di
birre. Non astenersi astemi.

Initially together as an ensambe of noisers since 1998, after some line up change, a demo, and a live performance supporting american Tristeza, reached a very original sound. They feel in the mood of Unsane, Jesus Lizard, Shellac, Polvo and Chicago's post wave, - well, greetings guys.. Songs are really songs (not free progressive improvvisation), and moving too! They come from the cross of Van Pelt, Slint and Touch & Go, - what do You want more? Blood? Here it comes: Bmx, Involved Man, Fabyenne (echoes from Devics when opening, then Albini_sh atmospheres), Val, Toi (never been at Action Park?), SafeTrip, - they blow out one after one, always at top. This is music slapping your soul, a real bless for the national scene. And it's strange to think that Inside The Whale (From Scrath records 2003) is the debut album only for Miranda. And sorry, if You think that's not enough. Buy the album of the year of downhere dropping a line to info@fromscratch.it, it costs only 1o euro, - save money and renunce to two beers. Even if You don't drink.
