Registrato interamente in analogico, Memory Drawings
Accattatevillo!

The Drift - Memory Drawings (7tx CD, 55'35'' – Temporary Residence ltd ‘o8) - It would be extremely easy to talk about Memory Drawings if we get strictly to the genre itself. But with this release (after Noumena in 2005, always on Temporary Residence catalogue) The Drift seem to focus more on the matter. Although all things of post-rock nature had gave life, per certo, to an over-inflationed branch of poseur successors, sometimes it happens to cross in a manoeuvre of spontaneous u-turn from initial horizons. The magmatic bass, on strong dub shade, the hypnotic sense of psychedelic dynamics, - a guitar loaded with reverbs sometimes going even elegiac, and - overall - this trumpet so jazz (for sure in debt with Miles Davis' electric parenthesis) able to give feeling and light to the seven tracks of this work. That's where The Drift seem have found the key: They fuse diverse souls in a sole body. Episodes like Uncanny Valley allow to feel afro evocations throught the partiture, while in If Wishes Were Like Horses all plays cinematic and lyrical. Analogically recorded, Memory Drawings features warm and stainless sounds, alternating more cerebral parts to dilations that each fan of this kind of sonorities would love. Buy it!
