(Con Todo El Mundo in Dub)
This is truly a masterpiece. Dub porn. Texan three-piece Khruangbin is ace, one of my favorite bands of the last two years so far, - I love their special chemistry of funky psychedelic, rooted in 60s and 70s, a balance point of Prince's sedated and - at the same time - flamboyant virtuosism, and Hendrix in service of groovy, entwirling melodies. Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar and Donald 'DJ' Johnson on drums - here, mr Johnson has got the perfect center of gravity: you can adjust the clock with his firm drum beat.
Their 2018's LP record The Universe Smiles Upon You was definitely an unexpected dose of oxygen, blending that psych/soul/trip/reggae feel.
Then, Jamaican producer Scientist put the topping of this special cake, re-dubbing it.
Truly an experience.
The emphasis of mysticism with Music. Reverb and delay efx galore. The bass like a prima donna. Meditative, sedative, oneiric. Trippy. Fully trippy. A must have.
