Sono almeno due mesi che ascolto Guillaume Eluerd. E non sono mai riuscita a scrivere decentemente su The Year of The Dog.
Capitava, magari durante l'aperitivo, che mi chiedessero cosa avessi
fatto quel pomeriggio e che io rispondessi di aver ascoltato in loop
l'album di debutto di questo francese classe 1970. A quel punto, a
ovvia domanda: com'è? Mi sono ritrovata a dire, ogni volta, che era
carino. Ma non si ascolta in loop, per un mese almeno, un album
solamente carino. Č pop-folk, alla fine, blues su cui è stato fatto un
bel lavoro di feng-shui sulle note, perché tutto è scarno, ma
decisamente messo nel posto giusto. Ci sono piccoli splendori, come le
due versioni di Paper of Armenia (ovvero come ti faccio piacere due volte la stessa canzone), No Soap e I am Without Light. Ed è anche vero che ricorda Devendra Banhart, magari per il barbone, ma non solo. E forse è per la profonda antipatia che ho per il Banhart che non sono mai riuscita a scrivere su Eluerd. Però l'ho ascoltato tanto. E penso che continuerò a farlo per un po'. Music @ myspace/guillaumeeluerd

Guillaume Eluerd - The Year Of The Dog (11tx cd, 42'15" - Fabriq rec 'o7 - 5 Roses) - It's like two months i've been listening to Guillaume Eluerd. And i have never been able to write something good about The Year of The Dog. In a couple of conversations during aperitif, it happened someone asked me how i did spend my afternoon, my reply was that i heard on loops a debut album of this frency guy, age class 1970. And of course, a question: what's the music like? - And each time, me answering it's nice. Actually it wasn't on loop, - at least for the first month, - just a nice album. It's pop-folk, that's it, sort of blues with notes threatened with feng-shui, because everything is thin, albeit decisively well place. There are some small splendours, like two versions of Paper of Armenia (that is, how i am able to make you like the same song twice), No Soap and I am Without Light. And ok, He makes me think of Devendra Banhart, both whiskered, but not only. And maybe it's due to my distaste for Banhart that it took me so long to write about Eluerd. Btw i often found myself to listen this CD, and i will keep on doing it for a long while. Music @ myspace/guillaumeeluerd
