Portland Rollerball are not newbies, it's years They've been releasing records from the hidden underground, - i guess it's more a family than a Band. I remember when some years ago i saw Them performing live in Rome, and the guy who sung made continuosly strange things with his tongue on the microphone.. btw.. pretty funny show. - The new self-titled album is out on italian Wallace rec, always focusing on creative Music, - and this is one more good number, seen that all 10 tracks are a special melt of free jazz drumming and sax partitures, quiet foggy electronics, and sweet boy/girl vocals, from the psychedelic opening quiet march of Never Happy to the gloomy hybrid Doc Nubbies until the long Water the Bark, a swim into the modern chaos of free ambient Music. Lullabies, or better, serenades, melancholic love-songs like the cinematographic The Sky in LA, mixing gipsy guitars with squeeze box - in a release strong of personality and cerebral charm.
