della Touch & Go (o
Amphetamine Reptile,
o Skin Graft)
The Planet
The mi ricordano gruppi totalmente folli e creativi come Ruins
I Bellini sposano
Sghembi, sexy e nevrotici i Jasminshock,
me Licia").
i Beirut,
Infection, piacevolmente new wave. Questi non la mandano a
dire, belli quadrati e violenti come gli Shellac:
Logan.
resto sono pure all'altezza. Gli Spriggan sono cupi e percussivi,
Led Zeppelin contro Distorted
Pony contro The Faith Healers? I Damien Frost sembrano
I Theramin (bel nome!) esplorano
I Lillayell
Allucinati e psichedelici, i Querelle
ed in bilico tra psichedelia selvaggia e new wave in voga all'epoca.
magistralmente eseguito dai Koi. Ce l'ho fatta a recensire
a tutti!
Anf!
__by VonoBox.

[As always, Vono's humour and genius is so fucking hard to translate in english for me.. so forgive me if i'm not yet all that able to do it.. - k's note] - Ohggod, bloody Komakino, as always he wants me to review a compilation, and i'm sure i'm going to lose my sleep again. At least, Fragments is very interesting: if i had found on the cd-box a logo from Touch & Go (or Amphetamine Reptile, or Skin Graft), even if badly cut and sticked on, probably i would have believed that! To be frank, it's just to those above mentioned records labels You should think to, to best find with ears and mind to what this cd features. Considering there are such so many bands here, i'm trying to use a telegraphic format, to say something of each one in their identity and being a single (but wasn't it a compilation? i'm getting confused..). Let's start (be brave..).. The Planet The make me remember of bands totally crazy and creative as well as Ruins (for the use of voice) and Henry Cow (an expressionist organ, demential guitar riffs, relatives with Frith). The Zu propose a brief free jazz draft, thorny and funny. The Bellini well fit with quadruple angles assaults of Jesus Lizards (it really looks like hearing performing Denison & Kimball) and intellectual sighs of Sonic Youth andBlonde RedHead, and the formula really works well for them too. Out of lines, sexy and nevrotic: Jasminshock, they're too in an educated and sophisticated vein of Blonde Redhead. You might think it's King Crimson perfoming a song from Red or Lark's Tongue in Aspic, while it's Beirut, enough lizard-ed by Jesus. A little bit of Devo, a bit of Trans Am, and some fuse chips, here You are Twig Infection, pleasently new-wave. And the, Logan, well sensibly squared and violent as Shellac. Listening to the Edible Woman is like smelling Touch & Go from each pore, and they're also at that level. Spriggan are dismal and percussive, Led Zeppelin against Distorted Pony against The Faith Healers? - Damien Frost sound as a sort of nevrotic Jam Band with luciferin prolongs, they let me think of some jappo new-psychedelia: do You know the Charnel and that fool man called Kawabata? - Theramin (good name!) explore psychological and hell dimensions of Unsane. - Then let's go on with blues/noise of Monotorakiki, exploding suddenly as a homicidal fierce. Lillayell have a new-wave spleen that i like once more, and add a thousand of arithmetics and broken rules. Psychedelic and amazing, the Querelle introduce interesting prospectives with urban and decay atmospheres. Let's get a jump in Canterbury with breakfast for Comfort, breathing air of rock in opposition, and i really like it. The Ceke are the funniest ones on this cd, - acid small guitars and bass like Primus (shadows of early Red Hot Chili Peppers), - we're ready to pogue and let's add some headbanger (right word?) à la Beavis and ButtHead. Inheritance of 8o's for Generoso Gallina (the only band here singing in italian), calling several of those acts of industrial matrix, undecided between wild psichedelic music and fashionated new-wave of past. Abstract and minimal, the H.C.-B., they remember me of some trance music coming from California of 2o years ago, - even if they found a very personal formula of ambient, Proteus 911 easily move through postrock and noise, - in a genre of music strictly intrumental, that You can appreciate because of guitars movements. And, just mentioning movements and progressions, here You are a Fripp_ed track excellently performed by Koi. - Wow!! i can't believe i finish to review them all! Please, do not ask me to read it again, erors of grammma or less. Anf! Anyway, hell, these songs burn as a deodorant for armpits done with alcaline batteries expired long time ago.. Now go and buy this cd, while i'm waiting for an ambulance, coming at minutes from the closest istitute for mental health.
