Once upon a time it was Skywave. From from Fredericksburg, Virgina, USA. Then, of these three kids, Oliver Ackermann moved to NY in 2004, established His own label Death By Audio, and formed A Place to Bury Strangers.
The other two talented guys, Paul Baker - vocals, guitar, bass, drum machine, - and John Fedowitz - vocals, guitar, bass, drum machine - remained in Fredericksburg, and formed Ceremony.
Both bands share a twin taste for Noise, - although Ceremony are more on the New Order's catchy pop side of Noise (but just a little more ferocious), - whose an excellent album came out in 2007, Disappear, - somehow on that shoegaze dark pop shore also dear to Alcian Blue, - blasting distortions and ethereal satured sounds, (more, both bands' records been released via Safranin Sound).
Now, Brainwashed's affiliated Killer Pimp released new Ceremony's single Someday, - a 7" disc, limited to 500 copies, featuring also an exclusive b-side track, Cracked Sun; Someday is a lo-fi splinter to their world of burning frequencies, dark noisy pop, electronic drumming, a bath of guitar gears like phaser, rat, reverb, - a genuine dance floor introduction to their forthcoming full-lenght release, due to next April. Bonus: Call my Name, and Regret
