Portoghesi trapiantati a new york e nucleo minimale costituente
il personale dietro la sigla Pole
Position, Daniel

Portoguese moved in new york and then minimal core forming Pole Position sign, Daniel Dasilva and Rui Guerreiro drive Their expressive trip in research of a strong sound emotional result. Using a not speciefied number of instruments (several synths, keybs, and various drumming), this duo substains Their own drammatic vein thanks to very cared sounds and arrangements in production stage. On the sheet coming together with the 8 tracks cd, there are some risky comparisons (according to my very very modest and insignificant opinion) with musicians which have few things to see with (Joy Division, King Crimson and even Brian Eno!!!!). On the contrary, it seems that Blonde Redhead, Radiohead, Portishead and Muse-head (hehehehe) with after-Smiths_taste inflexions to animate ambitions of this Music, done through a steep lyrical tension, being the principal and functional element of (negative) mood of this work. Instrumental skill and unembarrassed use of electronics at service of a enjoyable song-writing might destine some success to Pole Position in the next future (maybe also thanks to the local scene). Daniel Dasilva e Rui Guerreiro can be located between britpop and çhansonnier-like intellectualism, - a style already beaten with luck by Bands become popular also between the big public, - let's wait just for some potential hit..
