Live show recorded in Varedo (northern Italy) in March 2010, beautiful performance for Marco Bernacchia's one-man band, that is Above the Tree.
This guy wisely plays with delay pedals and loop stations, if You pay attention, You can actually hear him pressing on/off here, He records layers and loops over loops, recurrent cycles of vocals, beats, guitar riffs, - so to build a sort of hypnotic architecture in each song, alternating meditative tunes (In the Middle of None) to more tribal tempos (Emigrated Heaven) til faster bluesy rides (Disconnected Head - probably His most performative piece).
Pretty mystic the chants and reversed sounds of 30% of Love -, Bernacchia is able to think and successfully handle a math of different and sometimes unexpected movements (Ta-ta-ta-t).
Diy, low-fi, acoustic slide guitar, enchanted/stoned folk Music (Error), intimate psychedelic cut (One day in Reverse) if You're already fan of Lichens, Bird Show and Musica da Cucina You would totally love this.

Concerto registrato a Varedo, in quei della Brianza, lo scorso marzo, si si fissa cosí su nastro, anzi, 100 cassette (ma anche download digitale, non preoccupatevi) questa bella performance della one-man band di Marco Bernacchia, ovvero Above the Tree.
Il ragazzo sà dosare con saggezza pedali delay e loop station, anzi, se presterete attenzione, riuscirete a distinguere quel click sui pedali qua e là quando il nostro inizia a registrare strati su strati e loop sù loop, creando delle architetture ipnotiche, cicli riccorrenti di voci, beat, riff di chitarra, - alternando melodie meditative (In the Middle of None) a tempi più tribali (Emigrated Heaven) sino a delle cavalcate più veloci (Disconnected Head - probabilmente il pezzo più performante).
Piuttosto mistici i canti e suoni in reverse di 30% of Love -, Bernacchia è capace di pensare e maneggiare con abilità una matematica di differenti movimenti talvolta inattesi (Ta-ta-ta-t).
E' diy, lo-fi, chitarra acustica con slide, folk incantato e stronato (Error), dal taglio intimo e psichedelico (One day in Reverse), - se siete già fan di Lichens, Bird Show e Musica da Cucina questo è il Vostro pane.
