I preordered and finally got in my mailbox this first full length album by Estonia's trio Picnic, released last month, in vinyl and CD.
Think Cocteau Twins' liquid guitar (excellent on Colours, Rivo Jaervsoo), mixed with Pale Saints's charming female vocals era (Marju Taukar's mellow accent), luckly, without being slavish to the genre. Add synths, beautiful drums play spacing uptempo beats, and - last but not least, - that this record comes out on one of our favorite indies, Shelflife, and here we go: You have something perfectly enchanting, shoegaze, dreampop, whatever.
Tracks like Too Fast, Forget Yourself Through The Beauty, they shimmer through strings electricity and tones of mesmeric. Cinnamon: ethereal and peaceful. One step in the air.
Have It All is shaped to be a hit single, hard to forget. Are we really in 2013?
The last piece, Goodnight, is a fragile and sensual lullaby to dance in loneliness in your bedroom at night. But if you can give a call to your lover to join you, that wouldn't hurt its magic.
So, it looks like there is another excellent band in Estonia, dear Pia Fraus.

Feedback:
not yet, probably nobody cares, or nobody cared enough to tell something. Also: nobody reads komakino.
