Avant folk pop Music with a collage of brief experimental psychedelic percussive excurses, just not to forget there's Kevin Shea at drums, even if the whole debut album is closer to Pavement (I Wanna Be A Better Friend) and Joan of Arc (Get Back To The Shine) than to Storm & Stress or crazy spasms of Talibam! - and even if a song like Starchild And Moonkid is totally Knockin' On Heavens Door [whaaaatthefuck?!]. Ben Simon's voice (formerly in Great Lakes) well embraces american indie canons, melancholic and easygoing, inspired by traditional rock and low-key of drama. Introverted (Castles), occasionally folk iridescent, btw it looks to me like there's not exactly a firm guideline along these 17 tracks that can make them cohesive, notwitstanding highlights of Bodies, Got a Lot of Love and Strange Love where finally mr. Shea explodes. - It's a record to be played when You're on the way home at night, a versatility made of losers' adrenaline and nearly quiet movements. - Not exactly original or fascinanting altough still brilliant and well produced. - Music @ myspace/getthepeople.

Music @ myspace/getthepeople. - Tour: in italia a dicembre, info fiveroses.
